PAUSE for 3 mindful breaths

image witnessed by M. Lee Freedman

"Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
-Viktor E. Frankl

Please note that I will be pausing the act of sending mindfulness practice daily reminders for the remainder of June.

Pausing is a foundation for the practice of mindfulness.

Pausing provides us with the space to observe more clearly, then consciously choose a response to what is observed.

Consider using this pause to reflect upon the intention of the daily reminders, (http://mpdr.ca/)
and your personal intention for subscribing.
Then consciously choose either to continue receiving them in July or, if they are no longer helpful, to unsubscribe at the bottom of this email.

Wishing you many...
moments of mindful awareness
moments of well-being
moments of peace
moments of meaningful connection
moments of joy

Pause
Give yourself a moment to step out of the auto pilot “doing mode”
into simply being here and now
by bringing kind awareness to the sensations of
your next three breaths

What we need is to love without getting tired."

“Pure awareness transcends thinking.
It allows you to step outside the chattering negative self-talk
and your reactive impulses and emotions.
It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes.
And when you do so,
a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life.”

– Mark Williams

PAUSE for three mindful breaths
 before proceeding

"Mindfulness - noticing events in a warm, open, and inquisitive manner
- develops the courage to meet our lives with genuine interest.
It doesn’t mean there’s no discomfort when we dare to be curious.
It means we’re willing to tolerate not knowing what might be around the next corner.
In return, we experience the delight of being able to look, listen, taste, touch, feel, and learn from our environment.
We may not know all the answers,
but we don’t limit our perspective."
-Ed Halliwell

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. …
There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature
- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”
